What can be made from Khoya? How to make Gulab jamun with khoya? Kala jamun recipe at home


There are many ready-made instant mixes available in market but the taste of homemade Gulab jamun is best. Today, we made Gulab jamun with khoya. It is very tasty, soft and easy Gulab jamun made with khoya. I already share INSTANT KHOYA RECIPE with you. First made the khoya then follow steps given below to make Gulab jamun.

INGREDIENTS OF GULAB JAMUN:

  • 1/2 cup Maida (All purpose Flour)
  • 1 cup grated khoya 
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Ghee or oil for deep frying
  • 1tbs ghee in dough
  • 4 to 5 green cardamoms or 1/2 teaspoon of cardamoms powder(Elaichi powder)
  • 1 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 1/2 cup of sugar

How to prepare sugar syrup?

       Take 1 1/2 cup of water and 2 1/2 cup of sugar in a deep pan.


       Bring mixture to boil over high flame, when it come to rolling boil, reduce flame to medium and cook until sugar syrup is little sticky. Sugar syrup is ready.

How to prepare jamuns?

  1. Prepare 1 cup mawa by following the recipe given above, crumbled it. Add 1/2 cup sifted flour, 4 cardamoms, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1tbs ghee.

2. Knead all of them together until smooth dough is prepared. If required add few teaspoon of milk or water to knead a soft and smooth dough. Add little by little water at a time until smooth consistency of dough do not add large amount in single go.


3. Grease hand with ghee and take a small amount of dough in your hand roll it to convert in a smooth surface balls. Make sure that there is no crack on the surface of ball if there is crack the balls will open during frying. Make all the balls in equal size.

4. Heat ghee or oil over medium flame, when ghee is medium hot add a pinch of dough in it. If it comes upward immediately without changing color, ghee is ready. If it turns brown immediately it means ghee is to hot. If it does not comes upward, ghee is cold.


5. Add balls in heated oil or ghee.


6. After 3 minutes they will turn light golden brown, deep frying it until they will turn in golden brown they will take 6 mints. Let them cool for 5 mints.


7. Add fried balls in warm sugar syrup not hot syrup.



8. Soak them for 1 to 2 hours, they will increase in size. Jamuns are ready, serve them warm or chilled.
