About Chicken Shami Kebab Recipe:

                           When it comes to starters, Chicken Shami Kebab is one of the best non-vegetarian snacks to be served. You will not only love eating it, but also enjoy cooking this quick snack. Shami kebabs are succulent minced chicken with chana dal with spicy masala filling inside and crispy fried on the outside. Perfect for a dinner party during winters, it can be served with coriander or mint chutney as a Snacks and can also be served in a meal with steamed riceParatha etc.

I am sharing a very delicious Chicken Shami Kebab recipe. It is one of my favorite and easiest recipe.

Chicken Shami Kebab Ingredients:

  • 250 grams chicken
  • 1cup of Soaked Chana dal
  • 4TBS rice flour to make it crispy
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cut onions
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • some garlic cloves
  • 1tsp Coriander seeds
  • 7 Round red peppers
  • 1tsp red chili powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1TBS Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Mint & Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp crushed green chili

How To Make Chicken Shami Kebab?

Method:

Step.1

       Wash chana dal a few times and soak it about 2to4 hours in ample amount of water. Kabab will have a good texture if soaked well. Later drain the water completely and add to a large pot.

Step.2

      Add Ginger, garlic, onions, coriander seeds, red peppers, salt, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, chicken and 1 cup of water.

Step.3

      Cover the pot and cook them until chicken and dal are soft $ tender.

Ensure that you evaporate the water completely otherwise the kebab mixture will turn mushy, Mushy mixture will not hold shape to form kabab. Like below

    Cool this completely, separate chicken pieces and shred them to make Fibrous kebab.

Blending for chicken shami kebab

Step.5

       Transfer dal in blender and blend to a coarse mixture.

Step.6

       Transfer dal mixture in a bowl. Next add Shred chicken, rice flour, green chili Mint & Coriander leaves.

Step.7

      Mix this well. Break 2 eggs in a small bowl and beat it until it is fluffy. Pour this little by little& mix to form a dough.

Shami Kebab mixture is ready to make kebab.

Step.8

      Oily your hands to make a kebab. Take a small amount of mixture in your hand roll it then flat it as desired and make a shami kebab on your palm. Do same with whole mixture.

Step.9

    Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying. When oil is heat enough add kebab in it and fry it.

Gently slide in hot oil. Fry on a medium flame until golden, flipping to and fro as needed.

When they are golden transfer the Chicken Shami Kebab to a colander.

Step.10

      Serve the Chicken Shami Kebab with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
